Our client, a well-established organization based in Downtown Edmonton, AB, is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their team for an immediate 6 month contract with strong potential to become permanent. This is a fully on-site opportunity.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role will primarily support Canadian payroll processing while also being cross-trained as a backup for U.S. payroll. The ideal candidate will bring strong end-to-end Canadian payroll experience along with several years of hands-on Workday payroll experience. Experience with U.S. payroll and ADP is considered a strong asset.

- Collaborative payroll team environment
- Organization size: approx. 600 employees in Canada and 300 employees in the U.S.
- Process full-cycle Canadian payroll accurately and on time using Workday
- Support payroll processing for approximately 600 Canadian employees
- Cross-train and provide backup support for U.S. payroll processing through ADP
- Ensure payroll compliance with applicable federal and provincial legislation
- Process payroll adjustments, deductions, benefits, and reconciliations
- Maintain employee payroll records and respond to payroll-related inquiries
- Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and year-end activities
- Partner closely with HR and Accounting to ensure payroll accuracy and efficiency
- 3+ years of payroll experience, primarily focused on Canadian payroll
- Several years of hands-on Workday payroll experience is required
- Experience with ADP and/or U.S. payroll is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and compliance
- PCP designation or working toward completion is an asset
- High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
