We are seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Financial Reporting Analyst to support strategic decision-making across a growing Edmonton based organization. This is a hybrid role, with the office in south Edmonton.

In this role, you will provide high-quality financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and advice that support publicly funded programs with province-wide impact. Working closely with Corporate Finance, program leaders, and functional managers, you will transform complex financial information into meaningful insights that inform operational planning, and organizational priorities.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain monthly forecasts and annual budgets with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Analyze financial variances, including budget-to-forecast and forecast-to-actual results, and provide actionable insights at both the program and corporate levels.
  • Interpret financial results and trends to support organizational planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Review funding agreements and amendments to confirm financial commitments, payment schedules, and compliance with signing authority policies.
  • Compile contractual rights and obligations to support year-end financial reporting and audit requirements.
  • Deliver day-to-day financial advice and support to program areas and functional managers.
  • Act as a liaison between the Finance department and operational teams, ensuring financial information is communicated effectively and appropriately for the audience.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports, analyses, and information requests as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, or a related finance function.
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills with the ability to interpret, explain, and present financial information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Preferred
  • Experience working within the public sector, grant-funded environments, or research organizations.
  • Exposure to year-end financial reporting, audits, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting multiple stakeholder groups, programs, or portfolios.
