Aplin is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of high-voltage transmission and utility infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for managing projects throughout the entire lifecycle, from planning and procurement through construction, commissioning, and closeout.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, construction, procurement, and operational stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, construction, procurement, and operational stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of multiple capital projects with varying levels of complexity.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with established health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, project controls, contractors, and field personnel.
- Manage project risks, issues, scope changes, and mitigation strategies.
- Support procurement activities, including the development of Requests for Proposal (RFPs), contractor selection, contract negotiations, and contract administration.
- Facilitate communication between internal stakeholders, external consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor project performance and provide regular status updates to leadership and project sponsors.
- Maintain accurate project records, documentation, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in site visits, construction reviews, field kick-off meetings, safety inspections, and project progress assessments.
- Ensure project deliverables meet operational, technical, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Candidates with a relevant technical diploma or certification combined with significant industry experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 5–7 years of project management experience, preferably within utility, construction, infrastructure, energy, or industrial environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing capital projects from initiation through completion.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, project controls, budgeting, scheduling, and contract management.
- Experience working within utility or electrical infrastructure environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of permitting processes, environmental assessments, and stakeholder consultation activities.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with Alberta utility project lifecycles and industry standards is advantageous.
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
