Overview
This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing multi-site warehouse and logistics operations while driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, business growth, financial performance, and employee development. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping operational strategy, supporting business expansion, and ensuring consistent service delivery across multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to develop and execute strategic business initiatives, translating corporate objectives into operational plans and measurable results.
- Provide leadership for the successful startup, integration, and ongoing management of new facilities, including regional and national expansion projects.
- Collaborate with Business Development teams to support customer proposals, pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Develop and implement operational strategies that maximize revenue, improve efficiency, and reduce costs while maintaining exceptional service levels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, serving as a senior operational contact and supporting business growth initiatives.
- Travel as required to support customer relationships, operational initiatives, and strategic business objectives.
- Establish and maintain operational processes, procedures, and performance standards that align with organizational goals and customer expectations.
- Provide leadership and oversight for multi-site warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring consistent execution and service delivery across all locations.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through Lean, Kaizen, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Monitor operational performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement sustainable solutions to enhance productivity, quality, and profitability.
- Oversee operational budgets, financial performance, and P&L accountability across multiple business units or facilities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop operational leadership teams, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and professional growth.
- Conduct performance reviews, succession planning, and talent development initiatives to strengthen organizational capability.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, regulatory, and company standards while promoting a safe and respectful workplace.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within warehouse, logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations.
- Mandatory experience working within a Third-Party Logistics (3PL) environment.
- Proven success leading multi-site operations and managing large teams through direct and indirect reports.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, transportation, inventory management, customer service, and supply chain best practices.
- Demonstrated experience managing operational budgets, KPIs, and full P&L accountability.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Logistics, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align operational performance with organizational growth objectives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to lead organizational change, drive operational improvements, and deliver measurable business results.
- A strategic leadership approach combined with strong operational execution capabilities.
- A customer-centric mindset with a track record of building and maintaining long-term client partnerships.
- Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
