A growing manufacturing organization in Brampton, ON is hiring a Payroll & Benefits Manager to oversee Canadian and U.S. payroll operations and benefits administration. This is a 100% on-site position that will begin as a 3-month contract with strong potential to convert to a permanent role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions while providing leadership and support to payroll team members in Canada and the U.S. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in an independent environment and enjoys taking ownership of payroll and benefits operations.

Compensation & Benefits
- $45 to $55/hour
- 3 month contract with potential for an extension
- 100% on-site in Brampton, ON
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 1,500 employees across Canada and the United States (1,000 Canada / 500 U.S.)
- Oversee multi-provincial Canadian payroll and multi-state U.S. payroll, including Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida, and South Carolina
- Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, state, and local payroll regulations
- Administer employee benefits, pension programs, payroll deductions, and taxable benefits
- Support payroll activities for both unionized and non-unionized employee groups
- Lead and mentor payroll team members across Canada and the U.S. (1 direct report and 2 indirect reports)
- Review payroll reconciliations, audits, year-end reporting, and regulatory filings (T4s, RL-1s, W-2s)
- Partner with HR, Finance, and external vendors to resolve payroll and benefits-related matters
- Drive payroll process improvements, controls, and operational efficiencies
- Act as the subject matter expert for ADP Workforce Now and payroll compliance matters
- 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Experience managing both Canadian and U.S. payroll operations
- Strong knowledge of multi-provincial and multi-state payroll legislation
- Experience overseeing employee benefits administration
- PCP designation required; CPM considered a strong asset
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Experience leading or mentoring payroll team members
- Strong understanding of payroll taxation, compliance, and reporting requirements
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently within a flat, entrepreneurial organization
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
