We're seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing team in downtown Vancouver. The ideal candidate is a designated CPA and has 4+ years of relevant experience.

About the position
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the senior accountant will be responsible for but not limited to:
  • Support the month-end close process to ensure all reporting deadlines are met accurately and on time
  • Prepare and post journal entries across key areas including accruals, prepaids, payroll, fixed assets, and revenue/expense recognition
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all accounts are properly supported and resolved in a timely manner
  • Investigate and analyze account variances, ensuring clear explanations for unusual or significant fluctuations
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE
  • Collaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, and operational teams to ensure financial records are complete and properly recorded
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, including capitalization, disposals, and depreciation tracking
  • Review key accounting areas such as revenue recognition, intercompany balances, and expense allocations for accuracy and compliance
  • Support the maintenance and strengthening of internal controls and adherence to accounting policies
  • Prepare audit schedules and support year-end audit requirements, including responding to auditor requests
  • Act as a key support to the Accounting Manager in day-to-day accounting operations and reporting activities
Requirements
  • Designated CPA
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close ownership
  • Experience working in an environmental consulting or architecture firm is an asset.
  • 5 days in office role.
Compensation and benefits
  • Salary: $110,000 to 120,000
  • 3 to 4 weeks vacation
