Our client is an award-winning developer with over 50 years of experience in the industry. They are one of BC’s leading multidisciplinary real estate organizations, with a world-class portfolio of over 1,000 homes across the province. They are currently looking to add an experienced Controller to their team. The ideal candidate will be a designated CPA with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

About the Position
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for but not limited to:
  • Overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, full-cycle accounting, financial statements and monthly management reporting.
  • Preparing budgets, cash flow forecasts and financial projections to support business planning and investment decisions.
  • Working closely with ownership and leadership on tax planning, investment strategies, financial performance and long-term business objectives.
  • Managing financial reporting for holding companies, investment entities and income-producing properties.
  • Coordinating with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors and other professional partners to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Overseeing corporate tax filings, audits, statutory requirements and other financial reporting obligations.
  • Reviewing existing accounting processes and identifying practical ways to improve efficiency, strengthen internal controls and make better use of technology.
  • Supporting risk management and business planning by providing timely financial information and clear recommendations.
  • Maintaining confidential financial information and building strong working relationships with ownership, employees, external partners and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Designated CPA
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of full cycle accounting, personal/ corporate tax, audits and management reporting.
  • Public practice experience is an asset
  • 5 days in office role
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary: $110,000 to $120,000
  • Discretionary bonus
  • 3 to 4 weeks’ vacation
  • Extended health and dental benefits
