Intermediate Accountant

We're looking for a CPA to join a collaborative finance team on a 10-month contract. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys operational accounting, financial reporting, and solving complex accounting challenges in a fast-paced environment.
This role will step into an established position supporting a busy finance team, so we're looking for someone who can learn quickly, work independently, and confidently take ownership.

This is a hybrid model role (training will be fully in office) located in North Edmonton, starting immediately.
 
What You'll Be Doing

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages.
• Complete complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting working papers.
• Perform variance analysis and provide meaningful financial insights to support business decisions.
• Prepare regulatory reporting, tax schedules, and other required financial reporting.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and corporate policies.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to answer accounting questions and provide financial support.

What We're Looking For

• CPA designation (required).
• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong hands-on experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and complex journal entries.
• Advanced Excel skills, including strong experience with Power Query.
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Insurance accounting or IFRS 17 experience is an asset but not required.
• Experience with Workday is considered an asset.
