ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
- We’re hiring a Junior Mechanical Estimator / Estimating Coordinator to support the Chief Estimator in a high-volume bid environment.
- This is a behind-the-scenes role focused on mechanical takeoffs, spreadsheet accuracy, and document control. Not client-facing or design-heavy.
- If you’re someone who enjoys working independently, and producing clean/accurate deliverables under tight deadlines, this is a strong fit.
- Complete high-accuracy quantity takeoffs (HVAC / plumbing / mechanical scope) from BC drawings and specifications.
- Enter and maintain vendor/supplier quote details into internal estimating spreadsheets with strict data integrity.
- Manage tender document control: tracking, file organization, RFI logs, and version control.
- Assist with assembling and finalizing bid packages to meet tender admin requirements.
- Coordinate internally with estimating/ops to ensure nothing is missed ahead of closing.
- Experience: 1-2+ years in a coordination, tender admin, or junior estimating support role within construction (mechanical is a strong asset).
- Education: High school + relevant experience; a 2-year technical diploma is an asset.
- Technical: Advanced Excel (formatting, formulas, organizing large data sets) + comfort with PDF markup tools.
- Drawings: Able to read and interpret Canadian architectural/mechanical drawings; BC Plumbing Code familiarity is a plus.
- Work style: Extremely detail-oriented, process-first, comfortable working independently after initial onboarding.
- Personality fit: Methodical, “accuracy-obsessed,” enjoys structured work and driven workflow. Coachable and open to learning and improving.
- $60,000 - $80,000 depending on experience
- Full dental and benefits package 100% covered by employer
- 3 weeks paid vacation
- Growth opportunities in a rapidly growing company
