Stacey Danley at Aplin has partnered with one of Winnipeg’s most prestigious downtown law firms on the search for a Litigation Legal assistant. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support to a busy litigation practice.

- Prepare, transcribe, revise, and format correspondence and legal documents using lawyer instructions and established precedents
- Prepare and file documentation with the Manitoba Court of King’s Bench and Court of Appeal
- Conduct due diligence and other legal searches
- Proofread and edit documents for accuracy, grammar, spelling, formatting, and consistency
- Maintain organized electronic and/or paper filing systems
- Open and close files, complete conflict searches, and assist with billing and lawyer time entry
- Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, external agencies, and members of the public
- Handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion
- Provide additional administrative support and assist with other duties as required
- Post-secondary education in Legal Administration or a related program
- 3+ years of experience supporting litigation matters within a law firm is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading abilities
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
- Ability to multitask, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while following established procedures
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
