Aplin is recruiting a Senior Financial Reporting Manager for a 10-month contract with a large, complex organization in Edmonton. This is a senior individual contributor role for a CPA who brings strong technical IFRS, tax, and consolidated financial reporting experience.
The successful candidate will act as a key technical resource across Finance, taking ownership of complex reporting matters, leading financial projects, and providing guidance when the answer isn't always black and white.
This is a hybrid model out of a South Edmonton office.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate monthly consolidations, financial statements, and quarterly forecasting across multiple business units.
- Research and provide guidance on complex IFRS and technical accounting matters.
- Support Canadian corporate and indirect tax requirements.
- Lead the implementation and application of new accounting standards.
- Prepare reporting, analysis, and recommendations for senior leadership and the Board.
- Lead Finance projects and coordinate deliverables across multiple teams.
- Review financial reporting and resolve complex accounting issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and controls.
- Build strong relationships across the organization and act as a trusted Finance resource.
- CPA designation is required.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Strong technical IFRS experience is required.
- Canadian corporate and indirect tax experience.
- Strong consolidated financial reporting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills, including hands-on financial statement preparation.
- Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to independently research complex issues and exercise strong professional judgment.
- Experience in both public practice and industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience within a large, complex or multi-entity organization is an asset.
- Board reporting and pension accounting experience are assets.
- Workday experience is an asset but not required.
