Our client, an established and growing public accounting firm in Vancouver, is looking for a Manager to join its Private Company team.

This is a great opportunity for a CPA with strong private enterprise experience who enjoys working directly with owner-managed businesses and professionals. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients, oversee compilation and review engagements, provide tax support, and mentor junior team members while working closely with the Partners.

The Role
  • Manage a portfolio of private company and owner-managed business clients
  • Lead compilation and review engagements from planning through completion
  • Review financial statements and working papers prepared by junior and senior staff
  • Prepare and review corporate and personal tax returns
  • Provide practical accounting and tax advice to clients
  • Manage client relationships and respond to day-to-day questions
  • Delegate work and oversee engagement timelines and quality
  • Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to junior team members
  • Research Canadian tax matters and identify appropriate filing positions
  • Work closely with Partners on client matters and practice development
  • Ensure engagements are completed in accordance with applicable professional and quality standards
What You Bring
  • CPA designation
  • 3+ years of post-designation public practice experience
  • Strong experience with compilation and review engagements
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate and personal tax
  • Experience working with private companies, owner-managed businesses, and/or professional clients
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and multiple engagements
  • Experience reviewing staff work and mentoring junior team members
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE and applicable accounting standards
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
  • Experience with CaseWare, CaseView, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office is considered an asset.
