Our client is a fast-growing technology and manufacturing organization headquartered in the Lower Mainland, with operations across Canada and the U.S. The company develops innovative safety solutions, that combines technology, manufacturing, and service to improve fleet safety and reduce preventable accidents. As the company continues to grow, it is seeking an accounting professional to join its high-performing finance team and gain exposure to both Canadian and U.S. operations.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the accounting team in Coquitlam, BC.
Reporting to the Senior Accounting leadership team, this role will play an important part in the company's financial reporting, month-end close, audit coordination, tax compliance, and internal controls. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with senior management, explaining financial results, and operating effectively under tight reporting deadlines.
This position is well suited for someone who is at a strong Senior Accountant level or approaching Manager level and wants to take on meaningful responsibility within a growing corporate environment. The role offers exposure to both Canadian and U.S. operations, as well as opportunities to contribute to process improvements and broader finance initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate brings a strong balance of technical accounting expertise, financial reporting experience, and corporate business acumen.
You are confident communicating with senior-level stakeholders and can clearly explain the story behind the numbers. You are comfortable taking ownership of the month-end process, working under pressure, and meeting demanding reporting deadlines.
The successful candidate will be someone who can operate independently, contribute to process improvements, and bring the maturity and communication skills required to work effectively within a growing corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead month, quarter, and year-end close, including financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Present financial results and performance insights to senior management while partnering with FP&A and operations.
  • Oversee external audits by managing timelines, working papers, deliverables, and audit readiness.
  • Support corporate tax compliance through provisions, filings, and coordination with external tax advisors.
  • Strengthen internal controls and drive process, ERP, and automation improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and foster a high-performing, accountable finance team.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong financial reporting, audit, and tax compliance experience
  • Strong understanding of applicable accounting standards
  • Proven ability to communicate financial results and explain numbers to senior management
  • Experience working with ERP systems, QB or Sage a bonus
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, particularly during the 3–4 business day month-end close
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced corporate environment
  • CPA designation or completion of the final stages of the CPA program
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $85,000 – $100,000
  • Annual Bonus: 5%, based on company and individual performance
  • Vacation: 15 days, with potential for 20 days
  • Sick Days: 6 days
