Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and enhance Python-based applications, services, APIs, automation solutions, and data integration capabilities within a cloud-first environment.
  • Develop scalable, maintainable, and production-quality software solutions using modern engineering practices.
  • Collaborate within Agile delivery teams alongside developers, data analysts, architects, platform specialists, and business partners.
  • Improve engineering workflows by simplifying processes, automating repetitive tasks, enhancing reliability, and reducing unnecessary complexity.
  • Leverage AI tools thoughtfully to accelerate software development activities including design, coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting while maintaining quality and security standards.
  • Mentor and coach engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
  • Drive improvements around observability, automation, documentation, CI/CD practices, and overall engineering maturity.
  • Develop reusable engineering patterns and standards that improve delivery across teams.
  • Act as a technical leader who helps elevate both software quality and the capabilities of those around them.
Qualifications

Required:
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and supporting production-quality applications.
  • Strong Python development experience with a background designing maintainable, scalable, and testable software.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or providing technical guidance to other engineers.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments where requirements evolve and complex problems require creative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools effectively to improve software development practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for challenging existing processes and finding better solutions.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud technologies.
  • Background in data engineering, enterprise data platforms, APIs, integrations, or automation solutions.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub workflows, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience with Linux, scripting, and developer productivity improvements.
  • Experience establishing engineering standards, frameworks, or best practices across teams.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled engineering workflows and emerging technologies.
