About The Opportunity
This is a senior-level opportunity designed for an experienced Real Estate Law Clerk with extensive commercial real estate expertise and exposure to land development matters. You'll manage complex transactions involving acquisitions, dispositions, financing, title matters, severances, easements, and commercial development files while acting as a trusted resource within the Real Estate group.
The firm is looking for someone who can quickly integrate into the team, take ownership of files with minimal supervision, and contribute their technical expertise to a busy and sophisticated practice. This position also offers the opportunity to mentor junior team members while working on high-quality commercial real estate matters.
About The Position
As the Senior Real Estate Law Clerk, you will support lawyers across the firm's Commercial Real Estate practice by managing files from opening through post-closing. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing transaction documents, coordinating commercial purchases and sales, financing transactions, land development matters, title and due diligence investigations, and electronic registrations through Teraview.
You will liaise with clients, lenders, title insurers, municipalities, consultants, and opposing counsel to ensure transactions progress efficiently and deadlines are met. The role also includes preparing statements of adjustments, coordinating title insurance, managing closing documentation, conducting title and off-title searches, assisting with planning and development matters, and identifying and resolving title or registration issues. As a senior member of the team, you will also provide guidance to junior clerks and assist with workflow management and departmental best practices.
