About The Position
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates by reviewing drawings, specifications, tender documents, and performing detailed quantity take-offs for mechanical construction projects.
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers to develop comprehensive bid submissions and cost proposals.
- Manage mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through commissioning and closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and resource plans while monitoring overall project performance and profitability.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams to ensure effective communication and successful project execution.
- Administer contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, purchase orders, progress claims, and all project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee the procurement of mechanical equipment and materials, ensuring timely delivery and efficient allocation of labour and project resources.
- Lead and support Project Coordinators, Foremen, and field crews by providing technical guidance, resolving project challenges, and promoting collaboration and accountability.
- Ensure all mechanical installations comply with project specifications, applicable codes, quality standards, and company health and safety policies.
- Support system testing, commissioning, project closeout, and client handover while maintaining strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for future business.
- A Mechanical Engineering degree, Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma, Red Seal Journeyperson certification,
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical estimating, project management, or a combination of both within the mechanical construction industry.
- Proven experience estimating and managing commercial, institutional, industrial, or multi-residential mechanical construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, and mechanical building systems.
- Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 DOE
