The Opportunity
We are seeking an Accounting Coordinator to join the accounting team in Vancouver, BC.

Reporting to two Senior Accountants and supporting the broader finance group, this is a junior-level accounting position focused on supporting monthly accounting activities for a portfolio of rental properties. This role is ideal for someone with approximately 2 years of accounting experience who is looking to continue developing their technical skills within a supportive environment.

The organization is also open to considering motivated accounting graduates who demonstrate strong accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

The successful candidate will support core accounting functions including bank reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable, property owner distributions, and month-end activities. The company is committed to employee development and will support continued career growth, including CPA progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support monthly accounting activities for a portfolio of rental properties
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and assist with related journal entries
  • Perform double-entry bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records
  • Support accounts payable processes for property owners
  • Assist with setting up property owner distributions
  • Support tenant setup within internal systems and processes
  • Assist the broader accounting team with month-end activities and reconciliations
  • Provide accounting support to Senior Accountants and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure attention to detail across all accounting tasks
Qualifications & Experience
  • Approximately 2 years of accounting experience preferred
  • Open to considering strong accounting graduates with a solid foundation in accounting principles
  • Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and basic accounting concepts required
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, AP, journal entries, or month-end support considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and learn independently
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams
  • Positive team player with a willingness to learn and grow
Nice-to-Have Experience:
  • Experience within property management, real estate, or rental accounting environments
  • Experience supporting CPA studies or actively pursuing a CPA designation
  • Exposure to accounting systems used within real estate/property environments

Working Arrangements
  • Location: Vancouver, BC
  • Work Model: Fully in-office initially
  • Team Environment: Collaborative accounting team supporting rental property and corporate accounting functions
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $60,000 – $70,000
  • Bonus: Up to 10% annual bonus potential
  • Vacation: 3 weeks vacation
  • Additional Time Off: Company Christmas closure week + additional company days

  • RRSP Matching: Up to 5% (maximum $5,000 employer contribution)
