Reporting to the President, the position is accountable for human resources strategy, organizational effectiveness, executive-level communications, and strategic change initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic business partner to support overall business performance and organizational effectiveness.
- Partner with business unit leaders to provide practical HR support across all functional areas.
- Lead the human resources function, including organizational design, talent acquisition support, employee relations, leadership communications, compensation-related coordination, policy development, and people programs across union and non-union environments.
- Manage multiple collective agreements and union relationships.
- Provide strategic HR leadership to executive management on workforce planning, succession, performance management, employee engagement, compensation modeling, and organizational effectiveness.
- Own the People Plan and workforce budgeting process.
- Guide policy interpretation, workplace investigations, and employee relations matters with sound judgment, consistency, and alignment to company standards.
- Oversee and contribute to stakeholder communications, including executive updates, internal announcements, change communications, and sensitive employment-related correspondence.
- Lead or sponsor training, onboarding, and change adoption initiatives that strengthen leadership capability, employee development, and organizational readiness.
- Partner with business leaders to align people practices with operational needs while maintaining a strong focus on culture, compliance, and employee experience.
- Support compensation, benefits, and recognition programs through analysis, coordination, and practical recommendations aligned with business and workforce needs.
- Lead the HR/Payroll team, fostering capability, accountability, and continuous development.
- Ensure disciplined follow-up on HR priorities, compliance actions, and people-related initiatives, with clear accountability and timely execution.
- Act as a brand ambassador and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Senior leadership experience in human resources, ideally within a complex multi-site environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead HR initiatives involving workforce planning, organizational change, employee relations, and policy development.
- Strong working knowledge of employment standards and HR compliance practices.
- Experience supporting executive decision-making, strategic communications, and organization-wide change initiatives.
- Sound judgment and the ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion, professionalism, and consistency.
- Experience leading the HR function for multiple business units across Western Canada (BC, AB, SK).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clearly to executives, managers, and frontline leaders.
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, foodservice, or similarly operational environments is an asset.
- CPHR certification is required.
