Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Prepare and maintain financial records for a variety of clients
- Complete account reconciliations and journal entries
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
- Maintain accurate and organized client files and supporting documentation
- Prepare working papers and supporting schedules
- Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and compilation engagements
- Review financial information for completeness and accuracy
- Prepare personal, corporate, and trust income tax returns
- Assist with gathering information and supporting documentation required for tax filings
- Respond to client requests related to tax and accounting matters
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients
- Provide timely and professional support regarding accounting and bookkeeping inquiries
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather information and meet deadlines
- Collaborate with team members to ensure exceptional client service
- Assist with workflow management during busy periods
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, processes, and client experience
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Diploma, certificate, or degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably within a public practice environment
- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns is considered an asset
- Experience with QuickBooks, CaseWare, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency with Excel and other accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
