This role is responsible for monitoring road activity, capturing operational data, coordinating traffic control movements, and maintaining clear communication with field crews and contractors.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working independently, and able to make safety-focused decisions under pressure. Strong radio communication skills and clear spoken English are essential for this role.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining safe road operations and has the authority to delay, cancel, or divert traffic when necessary for public and crew safety.

This role is responsible for monitoring road activity, capturing operational data, coordinating traffic control movements, and maintaining clear communication with field crews and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor road operations and traffic activity in real time.
- Capture, organize, and maintain accurate operational and safety data.
- Coordinate communication between field crews, supervisors, and contractors using radio and phone systems.
- Control or redirect traffic operations as required for safety concerns, emergencies, or operational changes.
- Delay, cancel, or divert traffic activities when safety risks are identified.
- Advocate for company safety values and protocols through positive leadership.
- Ensure crew compliance with legislation, company procedures, and operating standards.
- Actively monitor key performance indicators and operational reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and communication records.
- Respond calmly and professionally during high-pressure situations.
- Previous experience in dispatching, traffic control, transportation coordination, road operations, or logistics is considered an asset.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Confidence using two-way radios and communicating clearly with crews and management.
- Excellent data entry and data management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong problem identification, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Comfortable working in a secluded or isolated work environment for extended periods.
- Basic computer proficiency with reporting and operational software.
- Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification or related safety training.
- Experience in construction, road maintenance, transportation, or industrial operations.
- Knowledge of roadway safety regulations and operational procedures.
- Experience with dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, or operational reporting tools.
- 3 weeks on/weeks off, mining camp environment.
- Independent work environment requiring strong focus and situational awareness.
- Fast-paced operational setting with safety-sensitive responsibilities.
- Salary Range: $28.00/hr - 40.00/hr
