We’re partnering with a well-established professional services organization to hire a Payroll & HR Manager. This is a key role within a collaborative, stable team, supporting both payroll and core HR functions in a hands-on capacity.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys owning payroll end-to-end while also being involved in broader HR operations. You’ll step into a well-run environment with strong leadership and have the opportunity to build on existing processes while making them your own over time. This role has 1 direct report.
Fully in office downtown Edmonton.

What You’ll Do
- Manage full-cycle payroll for employees across the organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Administer payroll changes including new hires, terminations, salary updates, benefits, and deductions
- Reconcile payroll, prepare reports, and support audits and year-end processes (T4s, ROEs)
- Act as the internal subject matter expert for payroll-related inquiries
- Support day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding, employee records, and policy administration
- Coordinate benefits administration, including enrollments, renewals, and employee inquiries
- Maintain accurate HRIS and payroll data integrity
- Partner with leadership to support HR processes as the organization grows
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll and HR processes and enhance efficiency
- 5+ years of experience in full-cycle payroll, ideally within a small to mid-sized organization
- Exposure to broader HR functions (generalist experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience with ADP or similar payroll systems
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a hands-on environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
- PCP designation (or working toward) and/or CPHR (or working toward) is an asset
