Senior Accountant

We’re partnering with an established organization in SE Edmonton to hire a Senior Accountant to support the team during a transition period. This role is a 3 month contract starting immediately with potential for permanency.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys owning the month-end process, working closely with leadership, and contributing to a stable, focused accounting team.

This position is fully in office in SE Edmonton.

What You’ll Do

• Own and execute the month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Perform detailed variance analysis and provide insights to leadership
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports
• Support year-end audit processes, working closely with external auditors
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Manage fixed assets and intercompany transactions
• Contribute to cost accounting and manufacturing variance analysis
• Partner with operations to understand business drivers and provide financial guidance
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies

What You Bring

• CPA designation (or actively pursuing with strong progress)
• Strong experience in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
• Hands-on experience with month-end, audit, and variance analysis
• Experience in manufacturing, energy, or industrial environments
• Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to connect financial results to operations
• Clear communicator who can work effectively with both finance and non-finance teams
