We’re partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization in Edmonton to hire a Part-time Controller for a 12-month contract. This role is ideal for an experienced Controller who has worked within the manufacturing industry.

This is a hands-on role focused on month-end, financial reporting, and operational accounting, with approximately 40–80 hours per month depending on business needs. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to ensure strong financial performance and continuity during a period of transition.

This role will be in office, NW Edmonton, starting ASAP.


What You’ll Do
  • Lead and execute the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements, cash flow forecasts, and reporting packages
  • Support and navigate audit processes, working with external auditors and advisors
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations (AP/AR oversight, payroll coordination)
  • Support cost accounting and manufacturing operations, including inventory, WIP, and margin analysis
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance
  • Partner with leadership to provide insights and flag risks proactively
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian tax and regulatory requirements (GST/HST, payroll, CRA reporting)
  • Maintain and improve internal controls, processes, and systems
  • Provide stability and continuity in a hands-on, high-ownership role

What You Bring
  • Proven experience as a Controller within a manufacturing or distribution environment (must-have)
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and WIP
  • Experience managing audits, month-end close, and financial reporting
  • Comfortable working independently in a fractional / part-time capacity
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations
  • CPA designation strongly preferred
