Our client, a leading independent investment management firm, is looking for a Senior Investment Counsellor to join their expanding Institutional Investment Team in Downtown Toronto. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned investment professional who thrives on developing institutional relationships, understands the dynamics of capital markets, and is eager to contribute to the firm’s continued growth across Ontario and Manitoba.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and expand relationships with institutional clients, including pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, and investment consultants across Ontario and Manitoba.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, implementing targeted growth strategies to strengthen the firm’s institutional presence.
  • Act as a trusted advisor—reviewing asset allocation, investment policy, and communicating the firm’s market outlook and portfolio positioning.
  • Collaborate with portfolio management, client service, and compliance teams to ensure a seamless and high-quality client experience.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance visibility and credibility.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and business development activities in CRM systems.

Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of experience in institutional investment management, investment banking, consulting, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain long-term institutional client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, portfolio construction, and institutional investor needs.
  • CFA charterholder and/or CIM designation (must meet OSC/AMF registration requirements).
  • University degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline (MBA/MS an asset).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with high integrity, professionalism, and strong business development acumen.
