This is an opportunity to join a well-established and growing general contractor with a strong pipeline of repeat business across North America. The company delivers large-scale, high-profile projects and is particularly well-known for its work within the big-box retail sector.

Due to continued growth and a secured pipeline of work, they are looking to bring on multiple Travelling Superintendents to support projects across Canada and the United States.

Projects are fast-paced, highly coordinated, and require strong leadership on site. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys travel, and has experience delivering complex builds on tight timelines.

Our client is a respected general contractor that combines the systems, structure, and project size of a large firm with the culture and agility of a smaller, close-knit team.

They have built long-standing relationships with major repeat clients and are known for successfully delivering complex projects across the commercial, retail, and light industrial sectors. Their teams are collaborative, driven, and take pride in executing high-quality builds in challenging environments.

Projects
  • Predominantly big-box retail and commercial developments
  • Typical project values ranging from $20M – $50M
  • Additional project exposure includes:
    • Food processing facilities
    • Distribution centres and warehouses
    • Large-scale site developments (15–100 acres)
  • Involvement in both greenfield developments and urban core projects with complex logistics
Responsibilities
  • Oversee all on-site construction activities from start to completion
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors and site crews
  • Drive project execution including schedule, sequencing, and methodology
  • Proactively manage site challenges, risks, and change orders
  • Maintain and enforce a high standard of safety across all operations
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, consultants, and clients to ensure project success
  • Lead site teams to meet schedule, quality, and performance targets
  • Coordinate logistics for both large-scale and constrained sites
  • Mentor junior Superintendents and Foremen
Requirements
  • 10+ years’ experience as a Superintendent within commercial, retail, or light industrial construction
  • Experience delivering big-box retail projects (or similar scale) is highly preferred
  • Strong background in:
    • Warehousing and distribution facilities
    • Food processing projects
    • Large-scale site development
  • Proven ability to manage aggressive construction schedules
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to health & safety
  • Willingness to travel across Canada 
  • Trade certification considered an asset
  • Proficient in MS Office
Compensation
  • Base Salary $130,000 – $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience
  • LOA
  • $165/day per diem (accommodation & meals)
  • Car rental allowance
