We are partnering with a well-established and respected Vice President, Construction in Winnipeg that is looking for a strong operational and business leader to step into a key leadership role as the VP/GM transitions into retirement.

The Opportunity
The VP/GM will oversee the day-to-day operations of the business while working closely with the leadership team. This individual will provide leadership across operations, project execution, client relationships, financial performance, and strategic growth.

The ideal candidate is someone who has already operated in a senior leadership capacity within construction and understands both the operational and business side of the industry. You are confident in making decisions, adjusting direction when needed, and leading teams through challenges while maintaining strong relationships across the industry.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Leading the overall operations of the business
  • Providing strategic direction and operational leadership
  • Supporting estimating, project management, scheduling, and execution teams
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Driving profitability, efficiency, and sustainable growth
  • Monitoring financial performance, forecasting, and operational planning
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing process changes where needed
  • Supporting business development initiatives and helping expand market presence
  • Leading and mentoring teams while fostering a strong company culture
  • Making sound business decisions and pivoting when required in a changing market
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven leadership experience within the construction or general contracting industry with a background in estimating and managing commercial/institutional building-related projects.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, financial management, and project execution
  • Experience leading teams and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong relationships within the Winnipeg construction community
  • A reputation for accountability, professionalism, and delivering results
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in helping lead and grow a business
  • Ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on when needed
