Trust Accounting Supervisor Location: Downtown Vancouver

Compensation: $75,000 – $85,000 + bonus + benefits

We are currently recruiting for a Trust Accounting Supervisor on behalf of a well-established boutique law firm in downtown Vancouver. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative and stable team in a firm known for its positive, professional environment.

This role is well suited for someone with strong trust accounting experience who is looking to step into a supervisory position while remaining hands-on in day-to-day operations. There is also long-term growth potential within the team.

About the Role Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Trust Accounting Supervisor will oversee a small team while supporting the firm’s trust accounting function. This is a hands-on role with a mix of transactional work, reconciliations, and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Distributing work across the team to ensure balanced workloads
  • Processing high-volume trust transactions (cheques, deposits, wires, EFTs)
  • Managing trust accounts and maintaining investment accounts across major banks
  • Supporting real estate closings and payouts
  • Preparing and posting wire and EFT payments
  • Performing monthly trust bank reconciliations
  • Tracking and reporting quarterly TAF remittances
  • Ensuring compliance with Law Society trust accounting rules
  • Maintaining accurate and organized records
  • Supporting ongoing projects and process improvements
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of accounting experience within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Strong understanding of trust accounting and Law Society compliance requirements
  • Experience with legal accounting systems (e.g. Soluno, ActionStep, or similar)
  • Proficiency with Excel and general accounting systems
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with internal stakeholders
  • Previous experience delegating work or supporting junior staff is an asset
