We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join a growing accounting team and support day-to-day financial operations. Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, this role will assist with accounts receivable, reconciliations, invoicing, and project-related accounting activities.
This position is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who enjoys working with financial data, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a variety of accounting processes. Workload may increase during peak periods such as quarter-end and fiscal year-end.

This is a 1 month contract located on site in NW Calgary, starting immediately, with potential for extension or permanency.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Review sales orders and invoices within the accounting system
  • Prepare and distribute invoices for internal training programs
  • Monitor outstanding accounts receivable balances and follow up on overdue payments
  • Apply incoming payments to customer accounts and investigate unapplied cash receipts
  • Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate records of all accounts receivable transactions
  • Generate reports on AR status and collections activities
  • Support consulting project administration including contract setup, cost tracking, revenue recognition, timesheets, commission calculations, and client billing
  • Assist with completion of Statistics Canada reporting requirements
  • Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting or accounts receivable experience
  • Experience with NetSuite is considered an asset
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel at an intermediate level
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
