Financial Analyst

Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a well-established organization to hire a Financial Analyst. This will be a contract opportunity supporting financial reporting, analysis, and stakeholder-facing deliverables within a collaborative finance team.

This role is ideal for an experienced individual contributor who brings strong reporting and analytical expertise and is comfortable working directly with stakeholders, without formal people management responsibilities.

• Compensation: $35–$40 per hour
• Please note, this role will be Hybrid at the client’s downtown Toronto, ON office, 2-3 days in-office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc financial reporting, including P&L analysis, KPIs, and variance explanations
• Gather, analyze, and interpret financial data to provide actionable insights and recommendations
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and performance review activities
• Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to collect, validate, and interpret financial data
• Prepare management reporting packages and presentations for senior leadership
• Perform variance, trend, and detailed analytical reviews to support business decisions
• Utilize ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Excel for reporting, analysis, and process improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automation, and overall efficiency
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and reporting requirements

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, reporting, or controlling
• Strong experience with month-end close, management reporting, and variance analysis
• Proven ability to work directly with stakeholders and communicate financial insights clearly
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) considered an asset
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (IFRS preferred)
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA is considered an asset
