As the community’s senior administrator, the CAO will provide strategic leadership, ensure effective delivery of municipal programs and services, and work closely with Council to advance local priorities. Key Responsibilities
- Provide sound advice and administrative support to Council in governance, policy, and community development.
- Oversee budgeting, financial management, and funding initiatives.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a small municipal team.
- Ensure compliance with territorial legislation, bylaws, and regulations.
- Strengthen communication between Council, staff, residents, and partners.
- Lead strategic planning and policy development to advance long-term community goals.
- Manage risk, respond to emergencies, and build operational capacity.
- Post-secondary education in Public Administration, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably within municipal or public administration.
- Strong financial management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience working in northern or remote communities is considered a significant asset.
- Demonstrated integrity, adaptability, and a commitment to community service.
