Senior Payroll Specialist

Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with Hamilton, ON-based company, to hire a Senior Payroll Specialist! This will be a 3-month contract with potential for an extension.

Benefits & Perks

• Compensation: $35 to $45/hour.
• Please note, this role will be hybrid (twice a week at the client’s Stoney Creek Office Monday and Wednesday IN OFFICE).
• 3-month contract with potential for an extension.
• Monday to Friday 35 hours a week, 1 hour lunch.
• 8am or 9am Start.

Responsibilities

• Process hourly payroll on weekly basis.
• Provide payroll, pension and benefits administrative support.
• Process the weekly hourly unionized employee’s payroll.
• Process pension and benefit plan entries, including, but not limited to, enrolments, changes, leave of absences and terminations.
• Ensure all employee records are accurate and up to date, hours of work, attendance, vacation, leave of absence, overtime, and benefit entitlements.
• Assist with the year end process.
• Maintain records for month-end reporting and remittances.
• Produce and submit ROE’s both within the payroll system and manually where required.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting.
• Must have over 3 to 5 years of Full Cycle Payroll Canadian experience with benefits experience.
• Union payroll experience is a must.
• Process payroll for over 500+ Hourly and Salary Payroll.
• Enrolled or Completed PCP Designation is an Asset.
• Proficient in Ceridian Dayforce or any other payroll system is a MUST.
• Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s, Formulas).
