About Our Client

We are hiring a Senior Accountant for our Vancouver Island client, near the Northern Cowichan Valley area. A leader in their industry for over 50 years, our client is committed to providing services in the remanufacturing and custom processing of lumber in the global marketplace. Consistently growing, it is now a third-generation family business that operates on Vancouver Island as well as in Burnaby.

About the Opportunity
Looking to expand their team, our client is looking for a Senior Accountant who has a close eye for detail and is well-versed in accounting principles. 3 years of accounting experience, an accounting designation, and experience in a CPA firm is desired. Please note that this position is fully in the office.

About the Position
  • Reporting directly to the CFO, the Senior Accountant is responsible for:
  • Supporting the full accounting cycle
  • Handling commission statements
  • Preparing monthly and year-end financial statements
  • Bank/account reconciliations
  • Handling purchase processing
  • Logging documentary credits
Job Requirements:
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience working for a CPA accounting firm is required
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail
  • CPA designation is required
  • Tech-savvy
Compensation:
  • $70,000-$105,000 depending on experience
  • Extended health benefits
  • 3 weeks vacation
  • Discretionary bonus position
