Our client who is a well-established and respected civil construction company based in Vancouver, are seeking a Civil Estimator to join their growing team. With over 35 years of experience delivering complex infrastructure projects across the Lower Mainland, this company specializes in earthworks, roadbuilding, excavation, shoring, and underground utilities. About the Opportunity:
They are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator who can step into the role with confidence and contribute immediately, bringing strong technical expertise and industry knowledge from day one. You will be working on 2-3 projects at any given time, based within the Lower Mainland, with projects ranging from $1M - $10M. The position is fully office-based, and you will be reporting to the VP of Construction.

About the Position:
  • Lead prequalification and proposal-based tendering opportunities.
  • Organize estimating teams for bid preparation, vendor/subcontractor selection, and cost analysis.
  • Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings; attends pre-bid meetings to define project scope and estimating effort.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to discuss and develop cost estimates.
  • Prepare material take-offs and calculates required quantities.
  • Provide productivity analysis for different scopes of work during estimate preparation.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals; prepares quote comparison sheets to assess best value.
  • Maintain organized estimate backup files, including updated pricing from suppliers and trades.
  • Lead estimate close-out and submission processes.
  • Conduct post-bid analyses on submitted tenders.
  • Support awarded contracts by assisting with change orders, extra work items, or design revisions.
  • Facilitate pre-construction handover meetings to align project delivery teams with scope and expectations
Requirements:
  • 5+ years working as a civil estimator
  • Proficient using software such as Heavy Bid, Spectrum, MS Project, and MS Suite
  • Civil contracting experience in BC
  • Civil BA is an asset
Compensation:
  • $120,000 - $150,000 depending on experience
  • 3-4 weeks vacation
  • Extended Dental, Health, and Disability
  • Discretionary Annual Bonuses
