We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join a growing Canadian payroll team supporting approximately 500 employees nationwide. This is a great opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is ready to take ownership of a complex, multi-provincial payroll process.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, a solid understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, and a commitment to accuracy and service excellence.

This role is fully onsite in Dartmouth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for 500+ Canadian employees across multiple provinces.
  • Manage all employee data changes, including new hires, terminations, ROEs, and year-end documentation.
  • Review, validate, and process timesheets, batches, and payroll adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial legislation, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Administer employee benefits, including health, dental, life insurance, and retirement programs (RRSP, TFSA, Canada Life).
  • Reconcile payroll data, prepare reports, and support off-cycle payrolls as needed.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to maintain accuracy and efficiency across systems.
  • Respond to employee inquiries with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Participate in payroll-related projects and process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of multi-provincial payroll experience in Canada.
  • Strong working knowledge of ADP or similar payroll systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables).
  • Experience working with batches and timecards.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and internal controls.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer service mindset.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Union payroll experience considered an asset.
