We’re looking for a confident and personable Human Resources Generalist to step into a dynamic, full-time generalist role that’s all about connection, collaboration, and impact for an 18 month contract. This isn’t your average HR post—it’s a high-touch, high-trust opportunity where you’ll lead full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, be the go-to contact for new employees, and support hiring managers with expert advice and care. We’re seeking someone ready to jump in quickly, contribute meaningfully, and help shape an inclusive and people-centered workplace. If you're passionate about hiring right, building strong relationships, and navigating HR with heart and precision, this is the place for you.

This role offers a competitive salary ($80–$85K/year, dependent on experience) with full benefits from day one, generous vacation and flex time, and a supportive, close-knit HR team where your work will be valued from day one. Interviews start soon—apply now to be part of something meaningful.

Must be able to go into the office once a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment: create job postings, screen candidates, coordinate and conduct interviews, and guide hiring decisions.

  • Own the onboarding experience: prepare documentation, conduct orientations, and ensure seamless new hire integration.

  • Collaborate closely with hiring managers to refine job descriptions and set realistic hiring expectations.

  • Maintain employee records and support accurate data entry in UKG HRIS.

  • Support HR policies and procedures, and contribute to potential policy development projects.

  • Conduct exit interviews and translate feedback into actionable insights.

  • Respond to employee questions as the main point of contact during onboarding and beyond.

  • Generate HR reports and assist with employee engagement surveys.

  • Support ongoing HR projects and provide guidance across the team as needed.
Qualifications & Fit
  • 3–5 years of generalist HR experience with hands-on recruitment and onboarding focus.

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management; CPHR designation (or working towards it) preferred.

  • Experience with HRIS systems (UKG is a bonus but not mandatory).

  • Strong understanding of Alberta and Canadian employment legislation.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.

  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and having direct conversations with hiring managers.

  • Warm, people-oriented, and confident—a strong team player who thrives in a collaborative, high-expectation environment.

  • Able to work from the Edmonton office once a week.
