Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compensation Lead to join their dynamic Human Resources team. In this key role, you will manage core compensation programs and processes, acting as a subject matter expert in job evaluation, pay equity compliance, off-cycle salary decisions, and salary range management.

Responsibilities
  • Knowledge Management & SOPs
    • Lead the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure team consistency and effective knowledge sharing.
  • Year-End Compensation Cycle
    • Support annual compensation activities including bonus eligibility calculations, compensation statements, quota reports, and employee communication materials.
  • Off-Cycle Salary Management
    • Evaluate and process off-cycle salary requests, ensuring alignment with internal policies and timelines.
    • Provide recommendations and obtain necessary approvals prior to implementation.
    • Foster strong relationships with HR partners and maintain internal equity.
  • Job Evaluation & Classification
    • Lead job evaluation processes and maintain job architecture, title guidelines, and the master job database.
    • Review and calibrate job evaluation results for consistency and adherence to frameworks.
    • Educate and coach HR team members on job evaluation tools and updates.
    • Respond to and resolve job evaluation inquiries and escalations.
    • Drive process improvements and maintain quarterly job evaluation dashboards.
  • Pay Equity Compliance
    • Administer and ensure compliance with all relevant pay equity legislation.
    • Oversee operational planning, data validation, payment calculations, and budget tracking.
    • Collaborate with consultants and internal partners to ensure accurate and timely data sharing.
    • Monitor legislative updates and conduct regular compliance audits.
  • Global Salary Range Management
    • Maintain and update salary ranges across Canada, the US, and various functional areas (Corporate, IT, Sales).
    • Reconcile benchmarking data and ensure tools and systems reflect accurate information.
    • Publish approved salary ranges and upload data into internal systems.
  • LTIP Program Administration
    • Assist with Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP) administration, including award tracking, communications, and participant record maintenance.
  • Special Projects
    • Lead or support compensation-related projects aligned with HR and organizational strategies.
 Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in compensation or total rewards.
  • Proven expertise in job evaluation and pay equity compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using tools such as Excel, SAP SuccessFactors, and compensation modeling software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-accuracy projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with external consultants and cross-functional teams.
  • Solid knowledge of Canadian compensation legislation; U.S. or international experience is an asset.
