A well-established and mission-driven organization in the education sector is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of a busy school office. This full-time, year-round position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, administering payroll, and supporting key accounting functions. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, community-focused environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-starter with a strong bookkeeping background who thrives in a structured, purpose-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable
  • Administer payroll and employee benefit contributions (experience with Payworks preferred)
  • Prepare and release monthly tuition payments through BMO
  • Support preliminary and final budget preparation
  • Assist with year-end processes, including audit prep and reporting for the Ministry of Education
  • Maintain accurate records and implement financial control procedures
  • Reconcile tuition payments, bank accounts, salaries, and benefits
  • Create and maintain financial reports and documentation in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Make regular bank deposits and occasional bank runs
  • Support general office administration and data entry tasks
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of proven bookkeeping experience, ideally in a school or non-profit environment
  • Proficiency in SAGE, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Workspace (Drive/Sheets)
  • Familiarity with payroll systems (Payworks preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of full-cycle bookkeeping
  • Experience preparing audit packages and liaising with external auditors
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines with strong attention to detail

Compensation:
  • $60,000-$70,000
  • 2-4 Weeks Vacation
  • Pension contribution
