Compensation
- Competitive compensation based on experience and the specific opportunity
- Current opportunities may range from approximately $60,000–$70,000

- Provide legal administrative support to lawyers and legal teams within corporate, commercial, and/or real estate practices
- Manage and maintain client files, including file opening, closing, archiving, and document organization
- Coordinate calendars, meetings, deadlines, appointments, and bring-forwards
- Prepare, format, proofread, and edit legal correspondence, agreements, forms, reports, and other documents
- Assist with corporate and real estate transactions from opening through closing
- Coordinate execution, signing, circulation, and collation of legal and transactional documents
- Prepare and organize closing documents, closing books, and transaction records
- Assist with real estate searches and related documentation through LTSA, BC Online, and other applicable systems
- Prepare trust documentation and assist with transaction closings
- Assist with billing, including WIP reports, pre-bills, invoices, and accounts receivable follow-up
- Communicate professionally with clients, lawyers, opposing counsel, and other external contacts
- Provide general administrative and practice support as required
- Work collaboratively with other Legal Assistants and provide coverage when needed
- 2+ years of Legal Administrative Assistant experience in a law firm environment
- Experience in corporate, commercial, real estate, or other transactional law is an asset
- Strong candidates from other practice areas, including litigation, may also be considered where transferable skills are demonstrated
- Completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant program or equivalent legal administrative experience
- Strong Microsoft Office and document formatting skills
- Experience with legal technology and applications such as Adobe, iManage, BC Online, DocuSign, MyLTSA, or ALF is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Ability to manage multiple files, deadlines, and competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, positive, and collaborative approach
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team
- Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced professional environment and taking initiative when required
