Human Resources Consultant $100K–$130K Base

Responsibilities:
- Provide HR-related advice and coaching to assigned client groups and business leaders on matters related to HR policy or practices, workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, compensation, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement.
- Participate in year-end compensation review exercises for applicable client groups, including annual base salary reviews, bonus plans and development of communication materials.
- Resolve complex HR issues effectively by applying knowledge across disciplines of HR, including recruitment, compensation, performance management, training, employee relations and workforce planning.
- Facilitate and foster lasting relationships with leadership, employees, and unions to effectively resolve workplace issues.
- Drive talent management activities that set out clear career paths and developmental options for employees.
- Support and increase staff retention and productivity initiatives using strategies to enhance employee engagement, improve communication, promote leadership, and foster employee development.
- Bachelor’s degree/College Diploma in HR, Business or related area.
- 5–7 years’ previous experience working in HR; construction, industrial or manufacturing environment considered an asset.
- CHRP professional designation or working towards.
- Possess knowledge of Labour Act law and Employment Standards Act requirements.
- Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and a variety of complex situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Flexible and collaborative work style aimed at maintaining positive relationships with all levels of employees and management.
- Work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and be detail-oriented.
- “Hands-on” project manager with a business partner mindset who has the experience and confidence necessary to work with business leaders, HR leaders, and employees at all levels to deliver results.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to network across functional teams and build solid client relationships.
- Sound problem-solving and influencing skills, coupled with an ability to understand broad Human Resource issues and resolve conflict situations in a diplomatic manner.
