Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is seeking a Senior Manager, Counterparty Credit Risk (Contract) to join their Capital Markets Risk team in Downtown Toronto.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced risk professional with expertise in structured credit products to play a key role in evaluating risk, supporting new business initiatives, and implementing risk management frameworks. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, partnering with business and technology teams to ensure new products and initiatives are appropriately assessed before implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Assess counterparty credit risk associated with new business initiatives and structured credit products prior to implementation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations on risk considerations to support business decision-making.
  • Partner with business, risk, and technology teams to implement and enhance risk management frameworks.
  • Lead the implementation of new risk framework initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Evaluate structured credit products, pricing models, and associated risk drivers.
  • Review existing risk models and identify opportunities to strengthen the overall risk framework.
  • Communicate technical risk concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to ensure risk framework requirements are successfully implemented.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by identifying potential risks and providing practical solutions throughout project implementation.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Counterparty Credit Risk, Market Risk, Quantitative Risk, or a related Capital Markets risk function.
  • Strong experience working with structured credit products, including Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), mortgage-backed products, and other structured credit instruments.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or enhancing risk management frameworks within a financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of structured credit pricing models and associated risk drivers.
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional business and technology teams.
  • Working knowledge of Python and familiarity with C++ to effectively collaborate with technical development teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to provide independent recommendations and influence business decisions.
  • Ability to work independently while leading initiatives and managing multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
