Tammy Boyko and Carlan Wilbon with Aplin are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Clerk for an immediate temporary onsite opportunity in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all accounts payable transactions for payment
- Perform data entry, scanning, copying, and distribution of invoices to appropriate approvers
- Verify approvals, signatures, and coding to appropriate General Ledger accounts
- Record and verify sequential cheque and control numbers
- Prepare cheque registers and obtain final approvals
- Verify cleared cheques against daily clearing summaries
- Process bank-rejected or incorrectly cleared cheques
- Handle cheque voids, stop payments, stale-dated cheques, replacements, and forgery cheques
- Record and maintain payment reports
- Update spreadsheets and prepare monthly journal entries
- File and maintain accounts payable filing systems
- Maintain proper controls and inventory for cheque stock
- Perform additional administrative and accounting duties as assigned
- University degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 2 years of related Accounts Payable experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with sensitive corporate records
- Strong sense of accountability and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to support internal and external stakeholders effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with Great Plains Dynamics, SAP, and Microsoft Access is considered an asset
