Aplin has partnered with our long-term client to recruit a Real Estate Paralegal to join their well-established conveyancing team. If you are looking for a supportive, engaging environment where your efforts are recognized and rewarded, this is the role for you.

You will be stepping into a crucial role, ensuring the seamless flow of basic to complex residential files. You will have the full support of a collaborative team and lawyers who genuinely appreciate their legal staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Full-Cycle Conveyancing: Manage all stages of residential real estate files from start to finish.
  • Financial Management: Calculate and requisition funds for closings, manage incoming/outgoing trust funds, mortgage financing payouts, and prepare Statements of Adjustments.
  • Document Drafting & Filing: Prepare, review, and file transfers, mortgages, builder packages, subdivision documents, and trust letters with the Alberta Land Titles Office (LTO).
  • Due Diligence: Conduct and summarize land titles, tax, zoning, and bankruptcy searches.
  • Client & Lender Communication: Produce timely reports, handle direct client inquiries, and liaise with lenders to meet tight transactional deadlines.
  • Step in to assist on files when other paralegals are on vacation or away, ensuring no deadlines are missed.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a recognized Legal Assistant or Paralegal program.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Alberta residential real estate.
  • Experience in Unity and Aderrant (billing/file opening), and iManage document management system (not required but an asset)
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, able to follow instructions with minimal supervision, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
