Our client, a well-established organization, is seeking a Global Payroll Manager to join their team in Mississauga, ON. This is a fully on-site role supporting a high-volume, multi-region payroll function. Reporting to the VP, HRIS & Total Rewards, you will oversee end-to-end global payroll operations, manage one direct report, and play a key role in audit readiness and process improvements.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $125,000 – $140,000 + 15% bonus
  • Pension plan (approx. 6%)

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee full-cycle global payroll for ~800 employees across Canada, U.S. (Los Angeles & New York), UK (London), Ireland, and Japan
  • Manage and mentor 1 direct report (Global Payroll Administrator)
  • Oversee semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll cycles across multiple regions
  • Ensure payroll accuracy including wages, deductions, taxes, commissions, bonuses, and garnishments
  • Review and approve manual payroll entries (adjustments, off-cycle payments)
  • Oversee time & attendance processes in Workday and ensure approvals are completed
  • Use Workday for payroll inputs and ADP Workforce Now for payroll finalization
  • Ensure compliance with multi-provincial, multi-state, and international payroll legislation
  • Manage global payroll vendors and ensure service delivery standards are met
  • Perform and review payroll account reconciliations and tax reconciliations
  • Partner with Accounting on journal entries, reporting, and month-end activities
  • Support and lead payroll audits, including coordination with external auditors
  • Collaborate closely with HRIS and Total Rewards on compensation, benefits, and program changes
  • Oversee payroll-related aspects of benefits administration, including deductions and statutory leaves of absence
  • Drive process improvements, documentation, and internal controls

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of end-to-end payroll experience in a high-volume environment
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience (direct report management preferred)
  • Proven experience managing global or multi-country payroll
  • Strong Canadian and U.S. payroll knowledge (must-have); international exposure is an asset
  • Experience with Workday and/or ADP Workforce Now
  • Hands-on experience reviewing complex and manual payroll processing
  • Strong understanding of multi-jurisdictional payroll legislation and compliance
  • Experience supporting payroll audits and working with external auditors
  • Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a large organization environment preferred
