Manager, Underwriting

What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:

• Lead underwriting operations across personal lines, farm, commercial, and liability
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and day-to-day support to a strong underwriting team
• Guide complex and escalated underwriting decisions with sound judgement and confidence
• Build and strengthen relationships with brokers, acting as a trusted partner and escalation point
• Contribute to the evolution of underwriting practices, guidelines, and risk appetite
• Monitor portfolio performance, trends, and exposure to support informed decision-making
• Collaborate closely with Claims, Operations, Finance, and other internal teams
• Champion continuous improvement across underwriting processes, tools, and workflows
• Leverage data, insights, and technology to enhance consistency and decision quality
• Support a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth

What You Bring

• Progressive underwriting experience across personal lines, farm, commercial, or liability
• Leadership experience—whether through direct management or senior-level guidance
• Strong underwriting judgement and a balanced approach to risk
• A relationship-driven mindset with the ability to build trust internally and externally
• A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with a desire to contribute ideas and improvements
• CIP designation (or equivalent experience) is considered an asset
