What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Reporting & Close
  • Support and contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with ASPE
  • Assist with year-end audit, review, and tax requirements
Project Accounting & Job Costing
  • Oversee job costing for residential construction and land development projects
  • Review Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and margin recognition
  • Monitor cost-to-complete estimates and project profitability
  • Partner with construction and development teams to analyze variances and cost trends
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow
  • Support budgeting and forecasting across projects and communities
  • Monitor corporate and project-level cash flow
  • Prepare construction loan and mortgage draw submissions
  • Ensure compliance with lending agreements and reporting requirements
Systems, Controls & Process Improvement
  • Act as a key user for Sage 300 and Homefront systems
  • Support system enhancements, integrations, and automation initiatives
  • Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and scalability
Team Support & Leadership
  • Review work prepared by junior team members
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance
  • Support the Controller and step in as needed
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience within construction, real estate, or development environments
  • Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, and project accounting
  • Hands-on experience with Sage 300 and/or Homefront (asset)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • CPA designation or in progress (preferred)
  • Experience with construction lending, mortgage draws, and covenants (asset)
  • Exposure to multi-entity environments and system improvements (asset)
