Impact Recruitment has the pleasure of working with a respected and expanding law firm seeking a Labour & Employment to join their team. This opportunity offers exposure to high-quality workplace law matters, including advising First Nations governments and major employers across Western Canada. The role is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys varied work, autonomy in their practice, and a collaborative team environment. While it would be preferred to have the incumbent lawyer work out of their Victoria location, their multiple offices allow for flexibility. 

Compensation
  • $85,000 - $250,000+, commensurate with experience
  • Discretionary annual bonus, based on billings and overall performance (hours typically range from 1400 - 1500 annually)

Responsibilities
This lawyer will join an established Labour & Employment team advising a broad range of employer clients across Western Canada.
The practice includes a mix of advisory and litigation work, such as:
  • Labour disputes and employment litigation
  • Wrongful dismissal claims
  • Wage disputes and employment contracts
  • Human rights and workplace investigations
  • Policy development and compliance advice
  • Governance and employment matters involving First Nations councils
This area of practice is a strong focus for the team, and their lawyers often appear before courts, arbitrators, and administrative tribunals on behalf of clients that include First Nations governments and organizations, multinational companies, construction and mining companies, manufacturers, and regional employers.

Qualifications
  • Be called to the BC Bar and be in good standing
  • 4+ years of post call experience with a strong emphasis on Labour & Employment law highly preferred
  • Ability to manage files independently and work collaboratively within a team
