About The Opportunity
Our client are seeking an experienced Base Foreman to lead base crews on municipal, subdivision, and commercial projects. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality base construction that meets engineering and municipal standards while supporting core purpose and core values.
About The Position
- Lead and supervise base crews on municipal, subdivision, and commercial projects
- Ensure base work meets quality, grade, compaction, and schedule requirements
- Operate a variety of base equipment such as graders, rollers, and skid steers as well as perform some labour duties
- Coordinate daily production with the Base Superintendent
- Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety standards
- Train and mentor crew members to support a positive, accountable team environment
- Order required materials and equipment for daily operations
- Complete accurate daily paperwork, including timesheets and safety reports
- Identify and resolve field issues involving grades, materials, equipment, or scheduling
- Perform grade checks using stakes, lasers, or GPS systems (Topcon or equivalent)
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in road construction
- Minimum 3 years supervising crews in municipal, commercial, or subdivision base work
- Topcon grading system experience is an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with clean abstract
- Proficiency with computers and digital reporting tools. Google Suite (Docs and Sheets) experience is an asset.
- $80,000 - $120,000 DOE
