Accounting Assistant

Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a Dartmouth, Nova Scotia-based company, to hire an Accounting Assistant. This is 3-month contract with the potential for an extension or to go permanent!

Benefits & Perks:

• Compensation: $27 to $30/hour.
• Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm
• Please note that this will be on-site for training at Client’s Dartmouth office and then moved to remote.
• This will be a 3-month contract with potential for an extension or to go permanent.

Responsibilities: 

• Coordinate entry of contractor time sheets into the time entry system along with staff time entry in designated locations. (approx. 80 staff)
• Liaise between contractors to ensure timely and correct time entry each week.
• Work closely with Senior Manager to ensure corporate payroll deadlines are met.
• Provide additional time entry support as needed.
• Act as time entry backup for staff time entry. 
• General Accounting duties.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance is an asset.
• Must have over two years of experience in General Accounting/Payroll/Time Entry Processing Experience.
• Must be proficient in MS Office including EXCEL (Pivot Tables, lookups, and Formulas).
• Experience with JD Edwards is an asset.
