Position Title: Construction Project Manager – Office Relocation (Contract)
Reporting To: General Manager
Position Type: Contract (4–6 Months)

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the final phase of a Markham office relocation project. The initiative is currently more than 50% complete. This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional capable of stepping into an active project environment and driving it through to successful completion.
The successful candidate will ensure the project is delivered on schedule, within approved budget, aligned to scope, and fully compliant with all applicable municipal codes and regulatory requirements. This individual will oversee the engaged construction firm, manage financial controls, mitigate scope creep, validate quality standards, and provide structured executive reporting through project close-out.

Roles & Responsibilities
Project Oversight & Execution (Approx. 30%)
- Assume leadership of the project at its current stage and develop a clear completion roadmap
- Oversee the engaged contracting firm to ensure timelines, milestones, and quality standards are achieved
- Monitor and control the project budget, reviewing invoices, change orders, and forecasting costs
- Identify and mitigate risks impacting schedule, budget, or scope
- Ensure full compliance with Ontario building codes, safety regulations, and applicable standards
- Maintain strict adherence to approved plans to prevent scope creep
- Review and validate all change requests, ensuring cost and schedule implications are clearly documented and approved
- Utilize CAD software to review, modify, and produce drawings as required
- Provide recommendations related to office layout, interior design, space optimization, and functionality
- Ensure design decisions align with operational requirements, employee experience, and budget parameters
- Deliver structured written progress reports at least twice weekly
- Provide weekly executive summaries outlining progress, risks, financial status, and next steps
- Serve as the primary liaison between the executive team and the construction firm
- Highly structured and deadline-driven

- Detail-oriented with strong quality control discipline
- Comfortable operating in executive-facing environments
- Able to quickly assess project status and implement corrective action
- Ensures Accountability – Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments
- Collaborates – Builds partnerships and works effectively with stakeholders to achieve shared objectives
- Communicates Effectively – Delivers clear, audience-specific communication
- Decision Quality – Makes timely, well-informed decisions that keep the project advancing
- 7+ years of construction project management experience, ideally within commercial office build-outs or relocations
- Demonstrated success taking mid-stage projects through to completion
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing project budgets and cost controls
- Experience overseeing third-party contractors and holding vendors accountable to deliverables
- Working knowledge of Ontario building codes and regulatory compliance requirements
- Proficiency in CAD software with the ability to produce and modify drawings
- Strong organizational, reporting, and communication capabilities
- Ability to operate with urgency, discipline, and precision
