Project Manager

Tammy Boyko and Carlan Wilbon with Aplin are seeking an experienced Project Manager for their client in Winnipeg to lead and deliver complex healthcare transformation projects. 

The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience delivering technology-enabled transformation initiatives, applying structured change management approaches, and ensuring sustainable adoption of new processes and systems within acute care settings.

Valid PMP certification and valid Prince 2 certification are required for this onsite term role in Winnipeg.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex healthcare IT projects, ensuring alignment with scope, timelines, budget, and quality standards
• Develop and manage project plans, including risk, issue, and resource management
• Monitor project performance against tolerances and report progress to steering committees and senior stakeholders
• Lead integration testing of healthcare information systems, ensuring compliance with HL7 standards
• Manage large-scale, provincial or state-wide healthcare system implementations, coordinating across multiple stakeholders and sites
• Develop and execute organizational change management strategies, including stakeholder engagement and resistance management
• Mentor and support clinical and executive stakeholders through system adoption and transformation initiatives
• Assess training needs, develop curriculum, and deliver training to end users and leadership teams
• Facilitate communication between technical teams, vendors, and healthcare stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy standards, and organizational policies
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, governance, and reporting processes
• Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

• Valid Project Management certificate is required
• Valid PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner certification 
• 10 years’ experience as a senior project manager in a healthcare setting developing project plans and budgets, monitoring project performance against tolerances, and reporting progress to the project steering committee. 
• 5 years’ experience as a senior project manager leading the planning and implementation of the testing of the integration of healthcare information systems using the Health Level 7 (HL7) standard.
• 5 years’ experience as a project manager overseeing the implementation and deployment of network infrastructure, device deployment, account management and application implementation in support of healthcare facilities and hospitals.
• 5 years’ experience as a senior project manager leading the implementation of a healthcare information system to be deployed on a provincial or state-wide level.
• 5 years’ experience delivering or managing organizational change management activities in a healthcare environment.  Activities must include mentoring senior healthcare stakeholders, managing resistance with clinical stakeholders, and developing change management plans.
• 5 years’ experience assessing training needs, developing curriculum, and delivering training. The response must include at least 3 examples including the project title and duration of the project that total at least 5 years.
